Chris T Davies apparently looked in on the progress of my copying material over from ctd.6 and posted a new thread "Moderating" - text :

The reason this site is not moderated is that I have lost the codes!!!!
However, posters may remember when this site was created so that three or four posters couls chat to each others as members of the Independent Wales Party- we then moved on to Forumer which did improve communications- there's no reason why the new board being created by Dai could not be moderated- this would be astep forward. However, it goes against my principles to moderate genuine debate, though I understand and symapthise with the positions many posters have put forward. Hopefully, soon, we'll have a moderated board- any comments Dai?

Text of my reply, so that new people can understand some of our reasons for setting up repwblic.informe.com

Dear Chris,

I've worried a bit about this - whilst you neglected to visit ctd.6 there were frequent debates about what to do and a number of people just gave up on it. Forumer appear to have interceded and took away a lot of the adverts after we ( Me ! ) protested the situation and begged for the passwords which they wouldn't give us. I know that you came back and tried aswell. The new scheme was hatched out by me and PenDdu, and we have tried to take on board everybody's comments.

In taking the posted material over to the repwblic.informe.com board, it creates the possibility of editting it. Since I am doing the work, and since a number of people who were main posters on ctd.6 didn't agree with Cymru Rydd's emphasis on nationalism as an issue without any reference to republican theory, and we don't want to be aligned to Plaid Cymru by the implication of Cymru Rydd's declaration of joining it, we all want a hand in the way the board works to ensure diversity of opinion. I am sharing the project with those who were the main posters on ctd.6, which unfortunately was not you - but if you become an active poster and show tolerance and interest in other points of view you and anybody else may be entrusted with responsibilities by the rest of us.

Ctd.6 was advertised as a service provided to the republican community by Cymru Rydd, yet it was not attended to - so we shall now attend to it as members of the republican community. This is not intended to exclude you personally or any other member of Cymru Rydd from participating as people who hold a certain point of view within the republican community. This does not exclude Cymru Rydd using repwblic.informe.com to post press releases and announcements, and we are happy to advertise Cymru Rydd on the repwblic.org website as we are happy to advertise any other sort of republican group. We are committed as a group to publicising all kinds of republican opinion and providing people with an encouragement to learn about Wales and the World's republican traditions.

We are not exactly sure as yet as to what repwblic.org is going to become, but right now repwblic.informe.com is going to be the same as ctd.6 - a "seiat" - a complete mix that reflects the kinds of people involved. Without planning it Chris, your ctd.6 board was pat to our condition, save that we couldn't stop it becoming so messy because of your loss off the administration passwords. We have fixed that by creating another site, and we are removing the material that we placed here - our material we feel, not Cymru Rydd's - to repwblic.informe.com. As I pour hours of work into doing this I note that Forumer's intervention into ctd.6 destroyed a lot of material, there are large holes in the threads to the point that discussions are incoherent and so I have discarded them. But this old material on the new site will attract the search engines to help make it a success. Come along and be part of it ?

Dai ( David B Lawrence )

I WANT TO POINT OUT THE REASON FOR PUTTING IN ALL OF THIS EFFORT TO RESCUE MATERIAL FROM CTD.6

A) I HOLD THAT THE MATERIAL IS OURS, IT WAS ONLY ON THERE BECAUSE IT WAS THE ONLY VIABLE FORUM GOING DESPITE ITS BEING NEGLECTED BY CTD / CYMRU RYDD, AND IN MOVING IT HERE I AM ERASING MY OWN POSTS AND I'D LIKE OTHER PEOPLE TO GO BACK AND DO THE SAME ONCE THE TRANSFER OF MATERIAL IS COMPLETED. MAKE SURE THAT THE THREAD HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED BEFORE YOU ERASE YOUR POSTS ON IT - SEE IF THE LAST POST IS BY ME AND SAYS THAT THE TRANSFER HAS BEEN MADE FOR THAT THREAD.

B) IF WE LEAVE LOTS OF THE MATERIAL DUPLICATED ON CTD.6 WE DIMINISH THE CHANCES OF REPWBLIC'S SUCCESS IN BEING PREFERRED BY THE SEARCH ENGINES OVER CTD.6

C) SINCE I DONT HAVE ACCESS TO THE IMG CODING, I CANNOT TRANSFER PICTURES UNLESS YOU TELL ME THE CODE TO INSERT.

Well it is 2pm Saturday 4th August, and I have dealt with about three pages of titles on ctd.6 which may be 25% of the topic titles but is probably only 10% of the postings since I have been mostly ploughing my way through the rubbish....pray for me, please...Dai
