Our aim is to gain independence for Wales, in order to improve the way our country is governed. We believe in an inclusive citizenship, which embraces and celebrates the fact that everyone who chooses to make Wales their home – regardless of their background – are full citizens of the new Wales.

[ AS SENT - NOT TYPO'D : LONG PARAGRAPHS AS TAKEN FROM AN EMAIL - NOT EDITED FOR REPWBLIC ... IN RE-READING THIS I THINK THAT THE GIST OF IT IS THAT BEFORE WALES LEAVES THE UNITED KINGDOM THE CONSTITUTIONAL MESS CREATED BY DEVOLUTION SHOULD BE SORTED : OTHERWISE " INDEPENDENCE " WILL PROVE TO BE ILLUSORY BECAUSE THE DEMOCRATS IN WALES WILL STILL BE IN THRALL TO THE GLOBAL CORPORATIONS I.E. THE ARISTOCRATS WHICH THE DEMOCRATS SERVE. ... PERSONALLY I LIKE AND RECOMMEND THE LAST BIT ABOUT LISTING TRUTH, LOVE, FREEDOM, PEACE & LIFE ON THE OPEN HAND ... BUT THEN AGAIN, ON THE OTHER HAND - TIGHTLY HELD IN THE CLOSED FIST OF THE UNITED KINGDOM - THERE ARE ALWAYS LIES, HATRED, SLAVERY, WAR & DEATH : THAT IS ABOUT THE AESTHETICS OF REPUBLICANISM.]

My own thoughts on dependence remain the same : independence from the rest of the world is not possible - therefore the critical question is the relationship between The People in Wales and The People in The World and this is why the anticipated referendum on The United Kingdom's membership of the European Union is such a bloody nightmare of mine. The People in England - as in Wales - are easily played upon to regard The People in The World as " other " and The Democrats are relying upon this to get The People in Wales to vote away our only remedy to those abuses which are licenced by themselves to themselves through their non-political system The United Kingdom. The European Union may be but a fig-leaf but it does help to cover up our most vulnerable area in Wales - which is not only the lack of a proper political constitution in The United Kingdom but the fact that Devolution has resulted in the focus of our political problems being divided between Westminster and Wales which whether it was intended to do so or not has doubled our troubles because Wales lacks what England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Sark, Gibraltar and doubtless many other even smaller dominions of The United Kingdom possesses : a Court to determine laws being passed in Y Senedd.

If independence is the only way to deal with the non-political system whose supporters claim to be " The United Kingdom " - whereas in fact all of the evidence from centuries past is that it sets The People in Wales and England and Scotland and Ireland and indeed The Rest of The World at each others' throats - then let us campaign for it as the only means to obtain a functioning political system. But let us beware The Democrats in Wales - those whose vision of political independence is akin to what happened in the so-called Republic of Ireland where The Democrats in Ireland of the 1920s merely seized hold of a part of The United Kingdom and simply painted it green - and changed nothing else : The Republicans in Ireland ended up divided between Sinn Fein and Fianna Fail and the constitutional issues were never debated again until the aftermath of their recent economic crisis. Torn apart by The Left versus The Right in The Irish Civil War and its political consequences, it is only in the last ten years that The Republicans in Ireland have begun to disentangle the legacy of Republicanism in Ireland from the false sentimental claims made over it by Sinn Fein and Fianna Fail.

Republicanism does not preach the in-dependence of nation states : it describes the inter-dependence of The People of Wales and The World and prescribes that our forms of government should be constantly reviewed and redesigned for the purposes which we want address - together ! There are more ideas about how to do this than there are Republicans but Nationalism is not one of those ideas because like Socialism it is a Notionalism : the " nation " is a " notion " imposed by those who use the idea to manipulate others. Republicanism deals in realities and tests ideas against the facts to decide how rational they are i.e. how much truth they contain : Nationalism at first appearance seems to be a plausible notion but it is not rational because it provides no basis upon which to obtain more than the bare fact that some of The People in Wales identify themselves to be " Welsh." This is of virtually no use in any political decision making because Nationalism plays purely upon sentimentality e.g. should those Americans who have popped up occasionally on Repwblic proclaiming their " Celtic Blood " and declaring themselves to be " Cumrick " be participants in our political system, or should those born in Wales but identifying themselves as " British " be excluded from it ? If speaking Cymraeg and having an appreciation for Popeth Cymreig is going to be the criteria for participating in our political system then how can you exclude those who do so in China - and indeed if that becomes the criteria for citizenship and residence as well as The People in The World deciding how we should live - how can we deny it to them ?

[ I.E. IF SPEAKING CYMRAEG BECOMES THE BASIS OF CITIZENSHIP AND RESIDENCE THEN MILLIONS MAY LEARN IT TO EARN IT - " IN ORDER TO GET OUT OF CHINA " ]

Republicanism is founded upon The Rule of Law and the limit of that is to not interfere in consenting relationships and absolutely not to make any laws which govern a person's relationship with his or her self : there are no thought crimes in Republicanism therefore there are no prescribed beliefs, which is rather different from what happens in The United Kingdom laws which privilege religious beliefs over political, philosophical, scientific etc beliefs. A Republican political system protects and promotes consenting relationships as the basis of a healthy society : it does not guarantee happiness any more than a gardener can guarantee a crop by preparing the ground, planting seed and promoting its growth - and by weeding : the laws are created to be " the seeds " which advise us how to act to build a healthy society upon the basis of consenting relationships - " the weeds " are those acts which are deemed to destroy a healthy society and are therefore proscribed by laws i.e. prevented not punished. The implications for this are in favour of the continued existence of Iaith Gymraeg because those acts which prevent its use in consenting relationships will be illegal - but equally illegal would be those acts which coerce its use because that equally violates the Republican ethos : Republicanism is not Nationalism, but has similar consequences.

The difference between Republicanism and Nationalism is perfectly exemplified in the hypocrisy of The Conservative & Unionist Party's paradoxical stances towards Wales and Europe - which is replicated within Wales in the hypocrisy of The Labour & Cooperative Party's paradoxical stance in Y Senedd towards Westminster and The Rest of Wales ! Nationalism as conducted in this way - and I mean also by Plaid Cymru whose control of some councils seems to have demonstrated exactly the same principle as was practiced by The Liberal Party over a hundred years ago - is the bid to possess power by appealing to Notionalism and is therefore merely a different version of the same things which it professes to oppose and so it is Democratic. I finally gave up on Democracy in 2013 because having witnessed what I had over thirty five years the original arguments of Republicanism about the dangers of Democrats and how they can undermine any political system and leave the appearance of it standing having hollowed it out convinced me. I have chosen to be an advocate of " Pure Republicanism " and reject Democracy as a non-political mechanism manipulated by communities of interest, but Republican Democrats and Democratic Republicans share that same perception - except that they believe that a strong constitution will prevent it. In my " Pure Republican " view political decisions can only be made upon the basis of facts and arguments and therefore political systems should be constructed - and constantly reconstructed - in order to maximise the facts and arguments being used in making political decisions.

Devolution has not met the criteria of being a political reform : it has resulted in some spectacular fiascos which have richly demonstrated that The Democrats in Wales - UKIP, Plaid Cymru, Conservative & Unionist, Liberal Democrat, Labour & Cooperative : all Democratic parties opposed to politics - do not want to deal in facts and arguments and thus should be counted as Notionalists. This problem can not be solved by making Wales independent - but it can be solved by our making Wales political once again i.e. by resisting the multiple ways in which The Democrats in Wales and Westminster are depoliticising our society and creating this non-political system by which they manage The People in Wales on behalf of the corporations ( and when I think of the 21c corporations I see them as the successors of the 16c companies which in turn were the successors of The Aristocracy which many of The People in Wales belong in the history books - not true : the Normans conquest yielded the estates whose wealth financed further conquests and their actual descendants now own the global corporations and farm us as their ancestors did - The Aristocrats in Wales are a documented fact and as in previous centuries The Democrats in Wales seek their patronage in order to get elected and manage The People in Wales taxing us on their behalf.) I ceased to believe decades ago that we can reform this non-political system by forming a Democratic Republican Party and getting elected because once elected those who obtain power within a non-political system will not choose to relinquish it. I used to advocate Republican Democracy as a cohering political philosophy to use as an umbrella for many diverse campaigning groups but now that The Democrats have drawn many charities into financial dependence upon The State I no longer believe this to be either feasible or desirable. I think that The Chartist strategy was right - to build our own state within a state - to be as independent of The United Kingdom as possible and to resist every attempt by The Democrats in Wales to control us. The only viable and authentic form of independence has to be vested in institutions which can resist being captured by any who will subvert them.

NOW AT THAT POINT I HAD A SMACKING HEADACHE FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTER DESCRIBING THE DEMOCRATS ... LET ME TRY TO NOW FINISH THIS.

The Chartist strategies for resisting The Aristocracy's control over society through The United Kingdom after they seized control of it in The Glorious Revolution of 1688 included campaigning for ( male firstly, female secondly ) Adult Suffrage but obtaining Democracy was but one means to their end of peaceably redressing the injustices being perpetrated by The Aristocrats ( who by this time had devised bonds, stocks and shares - and would soon devise The Limited Company in order to benefit from the exploitation of others without being held liable for the illegal actions of those they employed - a legal device whose origins were in such things as The Monarchy's licencing of pirates as " privateers.") The Chartists sought elected representation but they were acutely aware of the abuses practiced by The Democrats in America and therefore The Sixth Point of The Charter was annual elections so that any misbehaviour could be swiftly dealt with : the same remedy was proposed at the inception of The United States of America but those elected had promptly voted to entitle themselves to longer terms of office - and that is when the corruption of their Republican political system began to start. In order to oppose the injustices and cruelties being perpetrated against The People in Wales and The World an extraordinary number of different types of mutually organised but independent social organisations were created which associated themselves with the political objects The Charter - in other words they recognised that their guarantee of independence lay in their mutual support : they had learned from The Campaign Against Slavery that our freedom is only ever in the gift of others - if we try to seize freedom by force from each other then nobody can be free because we are at war.

Republicans were involved in creating not just Friendly, Mutual, Building, Legal, Insurance, Banking Societies etc but also the Trade Unions and Cooperatives whose constitutions - please note ! - are still Republican and not Socialist in character : they are not able to fulfil their functions when they are used as vehicles for sectarian purposes as political ideologues - pro and con - often fantasise that they can seized control of for. In the 1870s Republicans were promoters of The Labour Representation Committees in order to obtain representation for the labouring classes but " Labour " then did not have the political conotations of the present party and its dysfunctionality. Republicans like Odger stood for election and some like Bradlaugh were elected to The House of Commons. Republicans were also involved in founding The Trade Union Congress and The Cooperative Union which in turn founded the parties which were the precursors of The Labour & Cooperative Party whose colours originally were not merely red but red, white and green i.e. the colours frequently used by Republicans and Chartists the early 19c ... but already by The First World War The Labour Party's first elected representatives were willing to discard white and green - " Peace " and "Democracy " - and after World War Two Plaid Cymru discarded " Peace " too : let us therefore hold onto white which was the original Republican colour anyway - the colour of the " toga candida " worn by " The Candidates." But whilst the legacy of the 19c Republican movement is " one person, one vote " they would probably be appalled by the present political system of The United Kingdom - and they would be probably be raging at The Democrats in Wales for demanding of us a superstitious faith in a " Democracy " which within thirty years has perpetrated the passive neglect or the active destruction of every social benefit created through centuries of struggle by those who did not trust The United Kingdom and who only wanted The Vote in order to end the injustice being done to The People by The Aristocrats.

19c Republicans - or " Radicals " as they took to calling themselves in the latter part of the 19c - would never have handed over to The United Kingdom the social legacies which they had inherited from previous generations of struggle against The Aristocrats : that to them would have been like handing over the keys of their homes into the safe-keeping of burglars ! There is no point in saying that they could not foresee what The Labour & Cooperative Party would become - because they had already seen it happen when The Aristocrats enthralled The Democrats in The United States of America, and some lived long enough to not only celebrate The Republican Party being created and prosecuting The American Civil War but then to grieve that it too became indebted to The Aristocrats and soon enthralled also. If they had lived another hundred years The Republicans, Chartists and Radicals of 19c Wales would be lecturing us sternly on the Republican political theory's argument that Hierocracy will forever fall to Democracy, Democracy to Aristocracy, Aristocracy to Monocracy - and then The Monarchies will destroy civilisation and society will be returned to its natural state through great violence ... and therefore The Hierocrats will tell you that their lies are The Truth, The Democrats will tell you that their hatred is Love, The Aristocrats will tell you that their enslavement is Freedom - and The Monocrats will tell you that their war is Peace ... and all will assure you that your death is Life.

You need not trust the opinion of a Republican as to the nature of The United Kingdom - decide for yourself by answering to the following question :

Do you believe The United Kingdom to be propagating Lies, Hatred, Slavery, War and Death - or Truth, Love, Freedom, Peace and Life ?

These five things can be counted off by bending down the fingers on your hand : if The Clenched Fist results - then you are living in The Closed Society.

If you end up with The Open Hand - you are living in The Open Society : if you propagate Truth, Love, freedom, Peace and Life you will help to create it.

Devolution has resulted in the non-political system called by its supporters The United Kingdom propagating itself - but what we need is a Revolution.

Devolution has been revealed as a further re-entrenchment of The United Kingdom in Wales : we are witnessing Lies, Hatred, Slavery, War and Death.

Revolution will not be set in motion by obtaining sovereignty over Wales : sovereignty is a fiction used to excuse Lies, Hatred, Slavery, War and Death.

Revolution will happen when individuals choose to propagate Life, Peace, Freedom, Love and Truth and make The Laws in Wales accountable to these.

Sovereignty is a myth : The Laws in Wales are not - but they are not Welsh laws although made by Y Senedd because they are determined in England.

Devolution has produced an abnormal constitution in Wales even in terms of the non-constitutional non-political system called The United Kingdom.

The Welsh Court can be a remedy for the behavior of The Democrats in Wales if The Judiciary in Wales are independent of The Welsh Government.

If The Welsh Court is empowered to draft the bills and amendments and to refuse to make acts into laws it can stop these abuses by The Democrats.

The Democrats in Wales will of course object - but they can not deny their abnormal constitution and The Isle of Man has such a constitution already.

An independent Wales with the same bad government is worthless. An independent Welsh Court which can remedy that bad government is priceless.

Once we have got The Welsh Court and an independent judiciary determining The Welsh Law we can campaign to get rid of The English Legal System.

Republicans however do not wish to get rid of " The English Legal System " because it is " English " but because it is determined by money not justice.

Notionalist sentimentality should play no part in politics : government is about translating morality into ethics and laws into justice - and into Welsh !

( OK ! ... I do happen to think that a modicum of sentimentality is allowable in politics ... for the Republican purpose of tempering justice with mercy ... )

( ... but surely there should be no mercy for Hierocrats, Democrats, Aristocrats, Monocrats and any other Ultraists - there ought to be a law against ... )

[ FRIENDS OF MINE CAN EASILY GUESS HOW THIS RITUAL WOULD HAVE BEEN CONTINUED ... AT LEAST I THINK THAT THEY CAN EASILY GUESS ... ]

I went for the speeches but not the AGM which followed them, being reluctant to sign up to something before I know something about it : the sentiments being expressed were very agreeable and the proposal to publish a plan to progress towards independence is I think a sound exercise on its own terms.

The presentation of the recent events in Catalonia was very encouraging - excepting that the Spanish government tried to prevent their referendum.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declaration_of_the_Initiation_of_the_Process_of_Independence_of_Catalonia

The Declaration of the Initiation of the Process of Independence of Catalonia (Catalan: Declaració d'inici del procés d'independència de Catalunya) was issued on 9 November 2015. The declaration declares the start of the process to create an independent Catalan state in the form of a republic and proclaims the start of a participative, open, integrating and active citizen's constituent process to lay the foundation for the future Catalan Constitution

Well you know that I like flags ... and bottle tops ... bottle labels ... and that I think that here in Wales we should have a regular scheme of Republican flags or symbols for diverse groups to share in but identify themselves by modifying their basic schemes ( e.g. Y Llaw Agored holding different objects etc ) - but whilst these flags below with triangular shapes at the leading edges look good printed, they do not display well on a pole nor fly well. Even the Palestinian flag is tiresome to sew : all of these kinds of fussy flags present the same problem as Y Ddraig Goch ( which really has to be printed not embroidered ) which is why I decided to revive the 1790s red, white, green Trilliw : because we can just buy a modern Italian flag ( on eBay you can buy them for as little as ~ £3.50 ) and then unpick its hoist tape and reverse it - no sewing will be necessary ... you can just use glue to put it back together !

[ And please remember that a flag is but a rag : such symbols are not political arguments ! ]
